The idea
The hardest part of most tasks is starting them. A 25-minute block can feel like a wall. Two minutes does not.
So the timer asks for two minutes. When they are up, it shifts to the next gear without asking: 4, then 8, then 16, then 30. Add them up and you have focused for a full hour.
Using it
- Open a task and go to Timer.
- Start. The first gear is two minutes.
- Keep working. The timer moves up a gear by itself and tells you when it does.
- Stop or finish whenever you want. Nothing is lost if you stop early.
What gets saved
The time you spent is recorded on the task and in your focus record, so you can see later where your hours went.
Classic Pomodoro
If you prefer fixed work and break lengths, switch the timer to Pomodoro mode.
On Windows
The timer can shrink into a small floating window that stays on top of your other apps.
